American Godshas really shaken up the TV landscape this spring by bringing us some truly audacious and visually striking sequences. Though the storyline has been a little incomprehensible to me (as a non-book reader), I’m still all-in on the journey. The show has been a unique experience, and isn’t afraid to break its own patterns in an episode like last week’s “Git Gone,” which not only focused mostly on just one character’s backstory (Laura Moon), but also was a completely new story when it comes to Neil Gaiman’s original book....

The saga of theAvengers 4trailer and title was filled with more twists, deception, and heartbreak than your average James Bond film, so you’d think the sweet, sweet release of finally seeing someAvengers: Endgamefootageon Friday would have ended the hooplah. Folks, the hooplah has just begun. Back in September, the Russo Brothers tweeted a photo of an empty set captioned with the words “Look hard.” Fans, of course, pored over the image like a modern-day Zapruder film trying to see if there was any Captain Marvel concept art on the grassy knoll....

It’s absolutely one of the best films of the year; a sensual, moving summer romance coming-of-age tale that is impeccably acted, impeccably shot, and basically just impeccably crafted from head to toe....

Sundance is an amazing place to world premiere a movie. Not only because it’s an incredible festival filled with people that genuinely love film, but also you may show offbeat and touching stories about people without having to show an explosion every five minutes. The fact is, Hollywood has moved away from smaller, more personal stories and it’s left to the indie world to pick up the slack, like writer-directorMatt Ross’ family dramaCaptain Fantastic, which premiered at Sundance and was also shown at Cannes....

We don’t know when Captain Marvel will enter the MCU. She was supposed to randomly pop up atthe end ofAvengers: Age of Ultron, but was wisely axed before the role was cast. It’s possible (and likely) that she’ll show up before her solo film, but that solo movie carries huge expectations. Not only is it a new standalone series for Marvel, it’s also a standalone series featuring a woman in a landscape dominated by male characters....
