One of the many films to play at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival was the directorial debut from Dutch actorHalina Reijn,Instinct. The film is about a veteran female psychologist (Carice van Houten) that becomes infatuated by the sex offender (Marwan Kenzari) she is treating in a penal institution. In spite of her expertise and experience, we watch the two of them engage in an ever changing power play. While it would be easy for the film to paint in just black and white colors, Halina Reijn has crafted a movie where the viewer is not given easy answers....

The CW seriesiZombieis back for Season 3, and Liv (Rose McIver) has discovered that not only are there more zombies living in Seattle than she previously believed, but there’s also a private military contractor employing a small zombie army to prepare for the day that humans learn of their existence. And while Liv and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) try to keep an all-out zombie-human war from happening, Ravi (Rahul Kohli), Major (Robert Buckley), Peyton (Aly Michalka) and Blaine (David Anders) have many complications to sort out in their own lives, whether human or zombie....

The first reactions to the highly anticipated sequelJurassic World: Fallen Kingdomhave come rolling in from press who attended early screenings, and the response is a bit divided. Don Cheadle’s directorial debut,Miles Ahead, has been a passion project for the great actor for some time now, and right before its premiere at New York Film Festival last year, Sony Pictures Classics picked up the biopic for an April 1st release in the states. Before its national bow, it will also play the Berlin Film Festival in the coming weeks. And now we have an official trailer for the film, which tracks jazz pioneer Miles Davis' (Cheadle) fight to own his music and his relationship with Rolling Stone journalist David Brill (Ewan McGregor)....

Twenty-six features have been submitted for consideration in the Animated Feature Film category for the90th Academy Awards. What that means is that these 26 films, some of which are in the process of going through the qualifying steps, will await consideration by the Academy for the nomination process.
