However, while#Manholedoes draw from this subgenre that includes gems such asBuried,Gerald’s Game, andPanic Room, Kumakiri’s thriller also taps into a glorious madness to add a series of unexpected twists to a seemingly simple concept. #Manholefollows Shunsuke Kawamura (Yuto Nakajima), a young man who goes out to have some drinks with work colleagues in the evening before his marriage....

There is no secret worse kept than one involving more than one person, even if the secret coming out assures destruction for all parties. Yet some people do attempt to keep humongous secrets. In NBC’snew drama seriesGrosse Pointe Garden Society, “four members of a suburban garden club find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief, and a shared secret – a murder no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above," reads the logline....

American Dadis so enjoyable partially because it knows no limits to its storytelling. The chaotic energy that these characters embody allow them to get into increasingly bizarre situations. Guest stars can add to the anarchy in the best possible way. Some guest stars, LikeLisa Kudrow, were one-hit wonders that left everyone laughing long after the episode ended. Others, likeForest Whitaker, have become a running gag throughout the show. Each of these background characters allowed the story to grow and advance....
