I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that this episode was one ofArrow’sbest in the series. Oddly enough, “Restoration” succeeded by fully embracing the magical (and meta-human) side of the world that Oliver and Company now find themselves in. We had a superpowered card dealer, a resurrection via Lazarus pit, and even a technological communication presumably from beyond the grave. The best part about it all is that our heroes remain grounded in their very human, very constrained nature even while their enemies are developing supernatural powers....

Last summer, I was invited alongside a group of journalists to visit the Atlanta, Georgia set ofAvengers: Infinity War. If anyone knows how to keep a franchise going, it’s Disney. Its latest addition to theBig Hero 6franchise is the new Disney+ series based on its beloved character, Baymax. Instead of adding a sequel film to the franchise, the follow-up to the series,Baymax Dreams, is another show calledBaymax!. Baymax!’s first season includes only six 10-15 minute long episodes. While Baymax himself is as large as ever, his show is small and intimate....

Anime. It’s a word that can sometimes confound those who aren’t familiar with the animation style. What makes animeanime, exactly? Isn’t it just cartoons about a bunch of high school kids in supernatural situations? Why are they yelling all the time, or being perverts, or turning into weird, pint-sized, cutesy versions of themselves? And I’ve heard a lot about tentacles … is it safe for my kids? These are all valid questions and criticisms of anime’s many and varied tropes, but you’d be missing out on decades worth of quality characters, stories, and style by avoiding anime entirely....

One of the joys of a Marvel movie likeSpider-Man: Homecomingis seeing a teenage kid actually beingexcitedabout having abilities.Tom Hollandmakes Peter Parker giddy at the idea, and even though there are some growing pains regarding how to control them, and what he can do with them (to fight crime, or whatnot), the overall effect is a positive one....
