A representative from the Department of Damage Control is now bringing his services toWonder Man. News broke yesterday that Emmy-nominatedSuccessionstarArian Moayedwill reprise his role as Agent Cleary fromSpider-Man: No Way HomeandMs. Marvelin Marvel’s latest series, coming this December. According to reports, he’s set to be a major factor in the story ofYahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Simon Williams following his transformation into the titular superhero. Notably, Moayed is the second major MCU alum to be confirmed for the Hollywood-centric satire, with SirBen Kingsleyalreadyattached as actor Trevor Slattery.

The story ofWonder Manis still being kept a secret, even though it’s only a few short months away from hitting Disney+. It is known, however, that it’ll explore the entertainment industry through the unique perspective of Williams, a stuntman and actor-turned-superhero. A brief teaser in Disney+‘ssecond-half slate sizzle reelhighlighted the powers at his disposal and the challenges he’ll face as a star apparently looking to break through with a character made for him. For what it’s worth, Marvel’s Head of Television, Streaming, and Animation,Brad Winderbaum, is over the moon about what he’s seen so far, previously telling Collider’sSteve Weintraubthat he thinks it’s"the best show no one’s ever seen"and a sincere “love letter” to the art of filmmaking and acting.

Audiences will be the ultimate judge of how the series adaptsStan Lee,Jack Kirby, andDon Heck’s classic character, butthe long-gestating showhas put together an impressive team.Daniel Destin Cretton, who previously directedShang-Chiand is gearing up to filmSpider-Man: Brand New Day, created the series and directed several episodes, whileHawkeyeandBrooklyn Nine-NinealumAndrew Guestserved as head writer. In addition to the trio of Mateen II, Kinglsey, and now Moayed,Demetrius Grosseis also on boardfor the role of Eric Williams/Grim Reaper, withEd Harrisplaying Simon’s agent.

What To Expect From the Return of Agent Cleary in ‘Wonder Man’

Moayed remains best known for his workas Stewy Hosseini inSuccession, though he’s kept busy ever since the Emmy juggernaut came to a close in 2023. Of late, he made a couple of trips to New York forappearances in both seasons ofElsbethand joinedJohn KrasinskiandNatalie PortmanforGuy Ritchie’s sprawling adventure flick,Fountain of Youth, earlier this year. He hasn’t embodied Cleary since 2022, when the agent set his sights on Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). In both of his appearances, Moayed’s character has been the condescending, no-nonsense legal response to the use of superpowers for vigilantism, also targeting Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and his loved ones under the belief that the web-slinger was responsible for the murder of Mysterio, aka Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal). With his inclusion inWonder Man, it likely means that he’ll be investigating Simon and likely putting the screws to him and those around him in an effort to bring order.

Wonder Manmakes his wondrous debut on Disney+ this December. Stay tuned here at Collider for more in the run-up to the show’s release.
