After about a decade of streaming on the reputable platformNetflix, Canada’s long-running seriesHeartlandis unfortunately leaving the streamer in the U.S. soon. Developed byMurray Shostak,Heartlanddebuted on CBC on June 19, 2025, before findinga home on Netflixin the early 2010s, when it was first licensed in the United States and later in international territories. What’s on Netflix now confirms thatthe family-themed show’s run is coming to an end in a few weeks, a huge blow to many who have been anticipating the upcoming Season 19.
Netflix’s page for the drama notes that the “Last Day to Watch” is Thursday, July 31. So, from Friday, August 1, the first sixteenseasons ofHeartland, comprising 249 episodes, won’t beavailable on Netflix. Additionally, Seasons 17 and 18, which have already aired in Canada, won’t arrive on the streamer as initially expected. But there’s still good news! If Netflix proceeds with the removal,the show will continue to stream elsewhere in the U.S.as has been the case for the past few years.

UP Faith & Family remains the first-run home for new seasons ofHeartland.Season 18 already debutedon the streamer earlier this year, months after its finale aired in Canada last December. Full seasons of the family dramafirst land exclusively on UP Faith & Family in the U.S. months after finishing their runs in Canada.This is also before the episodes become available for syndication on other American networks and streaming services that aren’t affiliated with UP TV or its sister channels. Where Can You Watch ‘Heartland’ Season 18?
Since its premiere,Heartlandhas followed a multi-generational familyliving on a ranch in Alberta, Canada, through good and bad times.The show was just recently renewed for a nineteenth seasonwith an additional ten episodes on the way. Filming began earlier in May, but a premiere date has not been announced as of this writing. In the meantime, it wouldn’t hurt to catch up on Season 18, which began streaming on UP Faith & Family on Thursday, April 17.
