The film makes an exciting move for Chapman, who cut her teeth in the story department at Disney on films likeBeauty and the Beast,The Lion King, andThe Hunchback of Notre Dame. In 2013, she earned a Best Animated Feature Oscar for Pixar’sBrave, which she co-wrote and directed. Chapman also previously directed the 1998 animated feature ThePrince of Egypt, which took home an Oscar for Best Original song.

Chapman will directCome Awayfrom a script byMarissa Kate Goodwill, and the film is set to shoot in the U.K. and Los Angeles.Leesa Kahn,James SpringandAndrea Keirare producing, withMichelle Manningexecutive producing. Oyelowo is also producing through his Yoruba Saxon banner.
