The premiere of Bravo’sNext Gen NYCwas quite fascinating. It set up the world we’re about to embark in, introduced us to our new friends, and established an entire storyline about germs and washing hands. But more importantly, it gave us huge insight into what’s been going on withThe Real Housewives of AtlantaalumniKim Zolciak.

Though theTardy for the Partystar has yet to pop up in person, her name has been evoked, and fans are going wild, hungry for more information. While talking to her boyfriend,Hudson McLeroy, while on the hunt for the perfect NYC apartment,Ariana Biermannadmitted that she has been supporting her mother with money. “I have been on TV since I was five years old. I did reality television with my family, and then I started posting on Instagram,” Ariana explained in her confessional. “I got my first brand deal when I was 14. I was doing three posts a week. You get paid astronomical to do a story or to do an Instagram post, and I made quite a bit of money. But unfortunately, my parents took my money.” The bombshell admission may be the most intriguing storyline of the fledgling series.

Ariana Biermann Throws Kim Zolciak Under the Bus

Next Gen NYCis not Ariana’s first time on television. As a child, she was occasionally seen alongside her mom onRHOA. Then, when her mother earned herself her own spinoff, the entire family joined along, giving audiences a glimpse into what it’s like to be a Biermann. Fans watched asKroy Biermannadopted Ariana and her sister, and grew a large family with Kim, having four children together. Now, it’s Ariana’s turn in the spotlight. Andshe began her tenure with a bang by throwing her mother under the bus.

Ariana revealed on the episode, “I can’t say exactly what they used it on, because I just found out that it was gone two years ago,” Ariana stated. “I don’t even know how much money I made over the time period. Nobody was honest. There was no transparency. And I have no idea where it actually went.” We learned that this became a major point of contention for Hudson, who questioned how the money was being used. “I wish I would have been kept in the light about it, because I feel like I was grown enough to know the truth,” she added. “To know there is nothing left, our house is about to be gone. Instead of the lying. I get it.The lying is why I moved out.”

Is Ariana Still Giving Kim Money?

Though the only item that Ariana and Hudson acknowledged during the episode that Kim purchased, and selfishly chugged on camera, was a $200 bottle of wine, so we can only imagine what else the funds went to. Ariana, who is family-first focused, knows that perhaps her earned money helped her younger siblings. Hudson was not willing to let her get off that easily. “She says it’s money for the kids. Are you sure that it’s money for the kids?” Hudson questioned. “How do you exactly know where that money is that you’re Zelle-ing to her? It’s pure cash. She can do whatever she wants with it.” At the end of the day, Kim has been a public figure for over a decade. She knows that she’s going to be in the spotlight, so why would you allow a scandal to see the light of day potentially?

But, like the loyal daughter she is, Ariana continued to comply as she never wants money to destroy her family, acknowledging that her parents were going through a messy divorce. As we watch the divorce proceedings unfold,it has become clear that financial woes have been a central factor in the separation. There were allegations that Kim and Kroyowed upwards of $1M to the IRS,Kim had a gambling problem, and the former couple wereforced to sell their multi-million dollar mansiondue to the financial burden.

Since the episode aired, Ariana has had to answer for the situation andupdate on whether she’s still helping her mom. “I think it’s a little nerve-wracking to obviously share the money situation. Money makes things awkward, and I hate what money can do to people. I really have tried to not ever let it affect me and my mom’s relationship — she’s my best friend in the world. It was no one’s goal for this to be the way that it was, and we haven’t let it affect us,” she told People. Despite what was seen on screen, Ariana has claimed her mother does pay her back. “She’s done a few shows, which is amazing, andso they take a second to get paid out for everything,” Ariana explained. “My mom always pays me back though, but it’s definitely gotten better. She’s working really hard.” Of course, the influencer is also using her influence on social media to control the narrative, including how her relationship with Hudson is perceived. As she wrote in a post with the pair the premiere, “it’s our business Next Gen NYC.
