Warner Bros. has unveiled some new footage fromBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicein a brand new TV spot for the highly anticipated superhero film. It opens with a promising focus on levity, withJeremy Irons’ Alfred givingBen Affleck’s Batman some lip about his age and the dangerous nature of, you know, going out and beating up bad guys every night. It’s a nice preview of what will hopefully be a charismatic relationship between the two onscreen, as we have yet to see a portrayal of the Batman/Alfred relationship when Bruce Wayne is much older.
Elsewhere, the emphasis on some rockin’ guitars and overall punchiness setsBatman v Supermanup as the more hard-edged, more dangerous superhero movie alternative, and one can almost see whereZack Snyder’s director’s cut delved into R-rated territory.Hans ZimmerandMad Max: Fury RoadcomposerJunkie XLteamed up to deliver the score, and from what we’ve heard so far it’s very much in keeping with the rough aesthetic of Snyder’s film.

Take a look at the new TV spot below as we now only have a mere two and a half weeks left before this thing hits theaters.Henry Cavill,Amy Adams,Gal Gadot,Jesse Eisenberg,Laurence Fishburne,Scoot McNairy,Diane Lane, andHolly Hunteralso star.Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceopens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on March 25th.

Here’s the official synopsis forBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:
From director Zack Snyder (“Man of Steel”) comes “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Oscar winner Ben Affleck (“Argo”) as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill (“Man of Steel,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”) as Superman/Clark Kent in the characters’ first big-screen pairing.
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
