Bob Odenkirk’s gritty action sequel will hit theaters everywhere this weekend, but before it does, enough critics' reviews for the film have come in that it’s been given a score on Rotten Tomatoes.Nobody 2currently sits at an 83% on the Tomatometer on the world’s leading aggregator site, which falls just 1% below the 84% held by the original. The firstNobodyalso earned a “Verified Hot” 94% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter, but the sequel won’t be given a rating from audiences until this weekend, when enough reviews have come in. Still, with an 83% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, it sounds likeNobody 2could be heading in a similar direction as the original, one that leads towards successboth financially and through word-of-mouth.

Part of what has made theNobodyfranchise such a success is the simple fact that it hails fromDerek Kolstad, who is best known for his work creatingJohn Wick. AfterIlya Naishullerdirected the firstNobody,Timo Tjahjantoboarded as the director for the sequel. Tjahjanto has also been tapped to directThe Beekeeper 2, the action sequel starringJason Statham. AfterDavid Ayerdirected the firstBeekeeper, Tjahjanto has taken the reins for the sequel due to a scheduling conflict. The firstNobody, which is not currently streaming at the time of writing, grossed an impressive $57 million at the box office against a $16 million budget.Nobody 2reportedly costs a bit more with a budget of $25 million, so only time will tell if it can find the same financial success and become a profit forUniversal Pictures.
