James.
Daredevil: Born Againwas first announced several years ago, and in the early stages of development, it was reported that Daredevil and Wilson Fisk would be the only returning characters from the Netflix show, and not Karen or Foggy. However, at the end of 2023, it was announced thatDaredevil: Born Againwas undergoing a massive reform. Star Vincent D’Onofrio recently shared on hispersonal X accountthat the reason the show went through such notable changes was that he and Charlie [Cox] knew what the fans wanted. Based on therecently-premiered first trailer for the showand everything we’ve heard from Cox, D’Onofrio, and therest of theDaredevil: Born Againcast, it sounds like we’re in for a treat that’s worthy of its name as a follow-up to the popular Netflix series.
Other Netflix Veterans Are Also Returning for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
It seemed at first likeDaredevil: Born Againwas going to run from its Netflix heritage instead of embracing it, but now the show has an ensemble that closely mirrors the original series while even adding some new talent.Jon Bernthalhas also been set to reprise his role as The Punisher inDaredevil: Born Again. Bernthal previously appeared in his own Netflix show which was cancelled after two seasons, and he also starred as Frank Castle/Punisher in both Seasons 2 and 3 ofDaredevil. Also returning from the NetflixDaredevilseries isWilson Bethel, who played the legendary Marvel Comics villain known as Bullseye.
