Celebrations include freebies, special editions, return of DC comics’ legendary artists and a breakdown of what we can expect to get in the coming months.Dark Crisisis a celebratory event that will spread across seven issues, and it chronicles an epic event set in motion after the “death” of the Justice League, and the heroes from Earth-0 who band together to continue protecting the planet from supervillain Pariah.

This week, theDark Crisisstoryline will kick off withDark Crisis #0, a special edition from writerJoshua Williamsonand artistDaniel Sampere. In celebration of Free Comic Book Day, on May 7, DC is releasing a free, seven-page preview ofDark Crisis #1, which is already available to read now. This Saturday, you may expect to find your copy ofJustice League: Road to Dark CrisisandDark Crisis #1on your local comic book store.

The anticipated, mega-crossover storyline gets even more special by the DC announcement that beloved writers and artists are releasing special one-shots in which they pay homage to the world’s greatest (and now fallen) superheroes. Further details of the one-shots will be revealed soon by DC.
