Warner Bros. is bringing some synergy to its impressive CW superhero lineup next week by choosing the network to debut the first official trailer forSuicide Squad. We learned recently that the studio has slated Tuesday, January 19th as the debut date for the trailer, and it’ll be done within the context ofa special airing on the CWthat aims to give folks a preview of what to expect from the upcoming slate of Warner Bros. superhero films.Kevin Smithand DC Comics CCOGeoff JohnshostDC Films Presents: Dawn of the JusticeLeaguenext week, which not only premieres theSuicide Squadtrailer but also offers fans an early look atBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceand the in-productionWonder Woman.
The CW has now released two trailers for the special online, which tout theSuicide Squadtrailer debut and overall DC celebration. The network promises interviews with folks likeZack SnyderandWonder WomandirectorPatty Jenkins, as well asBen Affleckand other actors from the films, and I’m curious to see specifically what kind of footage we get fromWonder Woman. They’ll most likely just be showing off b-roll from the set, but I suppose it’s possible we could get a surprise teaser of some sorts for the actual film. Don’t expect any effects, though—the moviejuststarted shooting a couple of months ago.

The big event is theSuicide Squadtrailer debut, and I can’t wait to see what writer/directorDavid Ayerhas up his sleeve with this villain-centric superhero pic. We kind of know what we’re getting fromBatman v Supermanat this point, butSuicide Squadremains an utterly fascinating mystery.
