Julia Garneris on a roll, after the success of Marvel’sThe Fantastic Four: First Steps, where she plays Shalla-Bal aka the Silver Surfer. Her next release withBarbariandirectorZach Cregger,Weapons,is getting critical appreciation. While her two roles can’t be far apart, the actor’s performances are winning hearts all around as critics have spoken on Rotten Tomatoes.
Weaponshas garnered a 100 percentRotten Tomatoesscore from the critics. The movie sees Garner as a school teacher investigating children going missing in the town. While it sounds like a regular supernatural horror the movie takes twists and turns unfathomable. With the resurgence of interest in the horror genre with movies likeSinnersandNosferatu, recently, fans are enjoying the diverse themes covered by new movies.

What to Expect From ‘Weapons’?
Weaponsfollow a fictional town that experiences a massive loss after 17 children seemingly disappear without a trace one morning. When all but one child from the same classroom mysteriously vanishes, the community is left questioningwho or what is behind their disappearance. The movie is written and directed by Cregger, whoseBarbarianwas a big hit and left an undeniable mark on his fans, so expectations are high from the movie, and the director doesn’t disappoint ashe previously teased:
“[Weapons] is more ambitious in almost every way. I don’t just mean in terms of budget, but I just mean creatively. The story is weirder and it’s twistier and it’s bigger. I have way more actors to fit into this thing. The set pieces are definitely bigger. It’s just a bigger, weirder movie than Barbarian is… I promise you, when you watch it, you will agree with me. It is.”

It’ll be interesting to see what Cregger has cooked this time around as we have some compelling performers at hand and a story unlike any.
