Christina Ricciportrayed the adult version of Misty inYellowjackets,and her character was unconsidered to be one of thewildest and most unpredictable characters on the show. Ricci is known to star in spine-chilling movies, but she also appeared in movies that may have been less frightful and moved away from the horror genre.
‘Percy vs Goliath’ (2020)
Percy vs Goliathwas based on real events, specifically, the1998 lawsuit of Monsanto v. Schmeiser, where Monsanto Canada Inc. accused Percy Schmeiser of growing crops using their genetically modified seeds without buying the speeds nor having a license to plant them. In this thriller,Christopher Walkenstarred as Schmeiser, andZach Braffstarred as Jackson Weaver, a lawyer that informed Schmeiser that every crop that he grew on his land might be considered Monsanto’s property.
He risked losing his farm all because he saved seeds from his crops. One of the individuals supporting Schmeiser’s case was Rebecca Salcau (Ricci), an environmental activist. With her determination and ongoing outreach, Schmeiser had a stronger chance of arguing his case.

‘Distorted’ (2018)
InDistorted, Lauren Curran (Ricci) and her husband Russell (Brendan Fletcher) bought an apartment that features security. As they adjust to their new home, Lauren suspects that there was some malfunction with the apartment’s system such as a man appearing in the security footage and then disappearing.
Lauren was diagnosed as having bipolar disorder and took medication to treat her symptoms. As she started talking about all the strange occurrences that she began seeing, her husband began to believe that her condition worsened.

‘The Lizzie Borden Chronicles’ (2015)
BesidesYellowjackets,Ricci appeared and starred in a few TV shows. InThe Lizzie Borden Chronicles, she starred as Lizzie Borden, one of the most notorious killers in history. The miniseries was set in the 19th century and depicted Borden’s life through fictionalized scenarios.
In this series, the viewer was first introduced to Lizzie after she was cleared of charges involving the murder of her father and stepmother in 1893. Lizzie was now looking forward to building a new life, even though the civilians in the town she lived in, still feared her.

Z: The Beginning of Everything (2015 - 2017)
InZ: The Beginning of Everything, Ricci portrayed the flapper star,Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald. The narratives in the TV series described the history of how Zelda met F. Scott Fitzgerald (David Hoflin), her future husband. Their lavish was filled with parties and celebrations, but hidden behind all that glamour the couple struggled in their relationship.

The young couple was madly in love with each other. Zelda was known to suffer from schizophrenia, but she and her husband still thrived in the 1920s. They were both their best supporters and worst enemies in their complex relationship. Zelda supported her husband in his endeavors as a writer. Yet as she grew more successful, her husband grew immensely jealous of her.
‘After. Life’ (2009)
InthethrillerAfter. Life,Anna Taylor (Ricci) suffered a car accident and was presumed dead. She struggled to accept this fate as the Eliot Deacon (Liam Neeson) explained to her that she in on the path to crossing over to the “afterlife.” Anna exhibited signs of very much being alive, but she was trapped inside the funeral home, and the only person that suspected that Anna was still alive was Paul (Justin Long), her boyfriend.
Ricci’s character from the Addams Family, Wednesday Addams, enjoyed experimenting with death. Wednesday tested out elaborative punishments on her brother. It seems a little ironic that Ricci would be cast as Anna, as she was at the crossroads between life and death, and fighting to stay alive.
‘Penelope’ (2006)
Penelope Wilhern (Ricci) spent most of her life isolated because she was born with the snout of a pig, in the romantic comedy moviePenelope. True love will only break the curse but even when she met the potential true love candidates, they were easily scared off after she relieved her nose.
Who said true love was the only solution? Penelope decided to leave her family and start her new life while embracing who she truly was. Although there were some fantasy elements in the moviePenelope,the role of Penelope fell outside of Ricci’s usual frightful character portrayals in horror films.
‘Cursed’ (2005)
In the 2005 movieCursed,Jesse Eisenbergstarred as Jimmy, Ellie’s (Ricci) brother. Ellie and Jimmy were driving at night and crashed their car into Becky Morton (Shannon Elizabeth). As Becky’s car flipped over, her back window shattered and an animal pulled her out of the car. Ellie and Jimmy tried to pull her in the other direction but ended up with scratches from the animal.
What came after the scratches completely changed Ellie and Jimmy. They underwent extreme changes developing claws and werewolf-like behaviors. This transition affected anyone who was bitten by a werewolf.
‘Sleepy Hollow’ (1999)
The legend of Sleepy Hollow is the story of a headless horseman riding his horse at night hoping to find his missing head.Sleepy Hollowwas based on that legendand starredJohnny Deppas Ichabod Crane. Ichabod was hired to solve the mystery of the decapitated people in the town of Sleepy Hollow. He heard the story of The Headless Horseman but didn’t believe it to be true until he saw it the Horseman with his own eyes.

Katrina Van Tassel (Ricci) was the daughter of a farmer, Balthus Van Tassel (Michael Gambon). They met Icabod after staying at their home. Katrina joined in on the investigation after finding out that her romantic interest died at the hands of the Horseman.
‘Casper’ (1995)
The ghosts in theaptly named show ‘Ghosts,’ appeared in human form dressed in clothes they died in: in the 90s, specifically in the 1995 movieCasper,the ghosts appeared as white and puffy. Kat (Ricci) and her father Dr. James Harvey (Bill Pullman) moved into a house that was rumored to be inhabited by ghosts.
Dr. Harvey specialized in exorcising ghosts. His daughter befriended one of the ghosts, named Casper, that lived in the home. Besides Casper, the other ghosts in the house were Casper’s unfriendly uncles who were hoping to chase Dr. Harvey and Kat away.
‘The Addams Family’ (1991)
The Addams Familysong described them as “mysterious and spooky.” It’s no doubt that their house was the most distinct on the street, and their family traditions and quirks were unique to them. The family consisted of Morticia (Anjelica Huston), Gomez (Raul Julia), Pugsley (Jimmy Workman), Wednesday (Ricci), Granny (Judith Malina), The Thing, and Uncle Fester Addams (Christopher Lloyd), who had been missing for the past 25 years.
Wednesday Addams may be her most recognizable role, portraying a young girl with a dark personality who enjoyed experimenting with death. Ricci reprised her role in the 1993 filmAddams Family Values. In2022, Netflix announced that Ricci will join the cast of the new TV series,Wednesday.
