What Is ‘Homefront’ About?

The Thicketwas a passion project for Dinklage and, being a Tubi original, it didn’t get a theatrical release.Homefront, on the other hand, was expected to be a blockbusterbut did not get its due till it hit streaming. Directed byGary Flederfroma script bySylvester Stallone,Homefrontfollows Broker (Statham) as he squares off against a local crime boss named Gator (James Franco), after their children were involved in a school fight. Stallone originally intended to play Broker, but instead handed the role to Statham.

Homefrontalso starsWinona Ryderas Sheryl Marie Mott,Kate Bosworthas Cassie Bodine Klum,Rachelle Lefevreas Susan Hetch,Frank Grilloas Cyrus Hanks, andClancy Brownas Sheriff Keith Rodrigue. The feature earned $51.7 million at the box office against a $22 million budget, but, despite having a capable cast and a good story,it failed to amuse the audience. The divisive reaction to the movie can be seen in itsRotten Tomatoesscore: Critics gave it a 42% while the audience was more generous with a 61% rating.
