If the sight of a headline about whether or not Jon Snow is alive inGame of ThronesSeason 6 doesn’t make you nauseated, then this is for you. In the never-ending back-and-forth debates, with cast and crew alike tossing in their predictions and teases, fans have been wondering ifGame of Thronesmight live up to its mantra of “what is dead may never die” once again. At the risk of sounding like an episode ofMaury, here it goes…

In the case of Jon Snow, fans … hewillreturn — just not in the way you might be expecting. In an interview withTime Out London, actorKit Haringtonspoke (once again) about the fate of the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. He replied:

Look, I’m not in the show any more. I’m definitely not in the new series … I filmed some scenes of me being dead – [jokily] it’s some of my best work.

When asked whether he knows what happens in the season ahead, Harington said, “I don’t have a clue. I know how long I’m a corpse for, but I can’t tell you that.”

If you’ve read this far, it might be too late to warn you of spoilers from Season 5. Nevertheless, be warned. The last moments of the Season 5 finale saw Jon betrayed by his brethren of the Night’s Watch as they plunged blades through his torso proclaiming, “For the Night’s Watch.” Perhaps ifthis scenebetween Ser Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale) and Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) hadn’t been nixed, fans would’ve seen it coming earlier on. Adding to the intrigue was the arrival of Lady Melisandre (Carice van Houten) at Castle Black as this was transpiring, given her resurrection ability as a red priestess.

It seems that everyone from Harington (on numerous occasions) toRose Leslie(whose character, Ygritte, isn’t even on the show anymore) toEmilia Clarke(Daenerys) toMaisie Williams(Arya) toGeorge R.R. Martinto that random user on theGame of ThronesReddit thread has weighed in, and now it’s becoming more overworked and tired thanthe whole Glenn fiascoonThe Walking Dead. Thankfully, Season 6 premieres on April 24, so we won’t have to speculate for much longer.
