STX Entertainment has unveiled a new trailer for the unique first-person actionerHardcore Henry. Written and directed byIlya Naishuller, the film is presented entirely in first person as you, the audience member, are the protagonist in a non-stop, adrenaline-fueled, explosion-filled action film. The story ofHardcore Henryfinds “you” being brought back to life by your dead wife (Haley Bennett) with zero memories and a new cyborg body. But shortly thereafter, your wife is kidnapped by a telekinetic megalomaniac and you must battle his army of mercenaries to get her back.
This new trailer puts the pedal to the metal, so to speak, ramping up a series of shots involving gunplay, explosions, fist fights, etc. It’s a bit nausea-inducing for myself, but Perri caught the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival and was a fan, calling it “an unprecedented achievement.”

Here’s the official synopsis forHardcore Henry:
Strap in. Hardcore Henry is one of the most unflinchingly original wild-rides to hit the big screen in a long time: You remember nothing. Mainly because you’ve just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry. Five minutes later, you are being shot at, your wife has been kidnapped, and you should probably go get her back. Who’s got her? His name’s Akan (Danila Kozlovsky); he’s a powerful warlord with an army of mercenaries, and a plan for world domination. You’re also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, and everyone wants you dead. Everyone except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley.) He may be on your side, but you aren’t sure. If you’re able to survive the insanity, and solve the mystery, you might just discover your purpose and the truth behind your identity. Good luck, Henry. You’re likely going to need it…
