It’s been nearly a year since Season 3 ofThe Legend of Vox Machinafinished airing on Prime Video. Whilethe release date for Season 4has yet to be revealed,Travis Willinghamshared a production update for both this show and its upcoming series,The Mighty Nein.

During the IGN Live event forCritical Role’s 10-Year Celebration, Willingham revealed that not only has the recording ofThe Legend of Vox MachinaSeason 4 already begun, but also Seasons 1 and 2 ofThe Mighty Nein. He teased thatThe Mighty Neinadaptation will feature moments fans want to see while keeping it fresh for the newcomers. Additionally, he promised more updates in the summer.

“We’ve recorded the entire first and second season and we’re going to hit all the moments you as fans and we as players and GMs want to see…

…It’s a wild thing, especially for the multiple personality characters in our heads, to at times be working on Bell’s Hells, and then we were also recording ‘Mighty Nein’ animated and we’re working on Season 4 of ‘The Legend of Vox Machina.

Without spoiling the campaign,The Mighty Neintakes place approximately 20 years after the events ofVox Machina. This group features Jester (Laura Bailey), Caduceus (Taliesin Jaffe), Yasha (Ashley Johnson), Caleb (Liam O’Brien), Beauregard (Marisha Ray), Nott the Brave (Sam Riegel), and Fjord (Willingham), withMatthew Mercerreprising his role as the DM. Set in the continent of Wildemount, the group faces new foes and uncovers new secrets. This campaign is filled with emotional growth and themes of trauma, identity, and redemption.

What Happened During Season 3 of ‘The Legend of Vox Machina’?

Season 3 ofThe Legend of Vox Machinacontinued where season 2 left off duringthe Chroma Conclave arc. The group meets Raishan, who offers an alliance to defeat Thordak due to a promise that was never fulfilled. Alongside their quest to find the remaining vestiges, the season featuredsome strong and emotional character development, individually and as a team, such as Percy (Jaffe) and Vex’ahlia (Bailey) discussing how to define their relationship, Scanlan (Riegel) attempting to get close to his daughter, Kaylie, and a familiar face from Percy’s past returns, leading to a second face-off.

This installment ofVox Machinafeatured many changes, including references from theExandria Unlimited: Calamitycampaign and alterations to certain plot points and character arcs. While some changes are necessary when adapting a long-runningDungeons & Dragonscampaign into a suitable television show, fans have criticized it for its weird pacing and writing. But despite these criticisms, Season 3 generated a perfect critics’ score of 100% and a high audience score of 91% onRotten Tomatoes.
