Kendall likes to play it cool these days, but her Olympian genetics mean she is just as competitive as her older sibling. Kim has tried to adapt to the chill game that her model sister plays, but her competitive edge is more likely to show. This was demonstrated when Kim took Kendall to meet incarcerated men volunteering as firefighters this season, and she cheekily requested to know which of the sisters was the favorite among the men. Kim would know, of course, the likely answer to who was their favorite would be the sister who set up the cameras to come film with them as a part ofher prison reform rebrand.
Kendall’s solo scenes proved that she is lucky to have her siblings to film with, considering how, without having one of her sisters to share the scene, the model tends to flounder, and then her nerves start to show. In a van scene during the “College Tour” to promote 818 Tequila, Kendall tried to riff with the producers and her promotional team in the same way that the Kardashian family often tease and poke at one another. But because there is an employment barrier in the relationship, the joke about what Kendall would have been like in college fell flat, as the team member told her famous employer she would have been “too cool” for the collegiate crowd.No one present in the van dared to tease or to contradict the model in the way that her siblings would fearlessly do, if only to get a reaction from her.
Kim has always been honest that without her sisters there never would have been a reality show, because she needed someone to draw out her personality. It’s a surprising shyness, a fear of being criticized or having imperfections exposed, thatplagues the family in general. Kendall puts up a facade of perfection, and might even be better at maintaining it under pressure than her sister Kim, but this facade is also part of the reason these two sisters are boring without one of their siblings present to draw them out of their own fears.Kendall likes to set herself apart from her Kardashian siblings, but she has more in common with Kim than she realizes.
