It’s a little hard to believe thatThe Officespin-off is actually happening, especially because rumors of it have been going around for years. This time, however, the new series is giving all the signs that it has taken off byannouncing main cast membersand its basic premise. This week, however,The OfficealumnusOscar Nuñezprovided an important update onThe Paper, and it looks like the show is a lot closer to coming to our screens than we imagined.
The information was revealed during a participation on theTodayshow. Nuñez was invited along withseveral original cast members, includingBrian Baumgartner(Kevin),Angela Kinsey(Angela),Creed Bratton(Creed),Kate Flannery(Meredith),Leslie David Baker(Stanley), andEllie Kemper(Erin). The group wascelebrating the series' 20th anniversary, and during the group interview Nuñez revealed that episodes are in the editing process, which might indicate that a trailer will pop up soon.

In case you missed it,Nuñez was announced as a cast memberofThe Paperback in February. Even though Oscar won’t be a central character in the spin-off, he has been part of the story from the very start. During theTodayinterview, Nuñez confirmed that his character will be introduced to the story when he follows the documentary crew to another location that is notDunder Mifflin, but he happens to work there as well. But was Oscar fired? Transferred? We will have to wait a little bit to know.

Angela Kinsey did reveal that she andJenna Fischer(Pam) were invited to visit the set by series creatorGreg Daniels. The duo hosts a podcast calledOffice Ladies, in which they reminisce about their time on the show.
