It was easy forParadiseto cling to the title as one of the best shows of the year after its release in December. However, now more than halfway through the year, it’s clear thatDan FogelmanandSterling K. Brown’sThis Is Usreunion will hold up as one of the strongest of 2025. The show also introduced stars likeJames Marsden,Julianne Nicholson, andKrys Marshallto bring this twisty, dystopian story to life.

Paradisewas renewed for Season 2 before the conclusion of the first, and the second season hasbeen in production for months now.ParadiseSeason 1 follows the dual timeline model, with part of the show taking place in the present and the other set in the past.ParadisecreatorDan Fogelmanrecently caught up with TV Insider atSan Diego Comic-Conto talk about Season 2, and he explained how Season 2 will follow the dual-timeline model used in Season 1:

“We split the difference in Season 1. There was a lot of going back and forth between the present day and the bunker in the past couple of years or couple years earlier, before the world had basically ended. This year, we kind of have two different present-day storylines going whereSterling is on this mission to find out what where his wife may be and if she’s alive, and then also, what are the ramifications of him having left and all the things that happened at the end of the bunker? So we spend a lot of time split between the two, and rather than it just getting disjointed when we’re in one timeline, that’s when we tend to use the past stories of those characters, as opposed to just constantly doing a back and forth in the same episodes. But eventually, storylines collide and it all comes together.”

Fogelman previously confirmed that Season 2 wouldexplore life outside the bunker, which lined up with the Season 1 finale revelation that Xavier Collins’ wife was indeed alive on the outside. While most of the originalParadiseSeason 1 cast is confirmed to return in Season 2, there are some newcomers likeShailene WoodleyandThomas Doherty. The firstParadiseSeason 2 imageswere released earlier this week ahead of SDCC, and they provided the first look at both characters, who live outside the bunker. Season 2 will also see Xavier Collins leave the bunker to search for his wife Teri, and the new images showed him venturing out into the treacherous terrain and heading for Atlanta.
