Next, the award-winning actor will appear inNetflix’sThe Thursday Murder Club, scheduled for release in select theaters on August 22 and on the streamer on August 28. As the countdown to its arrival continues, Brosnan has secured another promising project, which has no release date yet but willsoon be playingon big screens.

TitledGiant, the upcoming biopic is based on the life of boxing championPrince Naseem “Naz” Hamed, who competed from 1992 to 2002. An official trailer has now been released for the movie, highlighting the athlete’s dynamic with iconic trainerBrendan Ingle, who coached him for sixteen years.Brosnan portraysthe trainer, looking unrecognizable in the trailer, whileAmir El-Masryplays the talented boxer.Giantis written and directed byGangs of London’sRowan Athale, with producers including AGC Studios’Stuart FordalongsideMark Laneof Tea Shop Productions andKevin Sampsonof White Star Productions.

The inspiringBritish moviehas been in development since 2020 but was officially announced to be moving forward in January 2023. At the time,Paddy ConsidineandMena Massoudwere attached to star. What Is ‘Giant’ About?

As atrue-life story,Giantchronicles Naz’s “rags-to-riches underdog tale”from his humble beginnings in Sheffield to becoming a world champion and a global sporting icon in the 1990s, according to its official synopsis. It further teases that the film explores the unlikely and tender relationship between Naz and his Irish boxing trainer, Brendan Ingle, as well as the instrumental role the trainer played in his road to success. The synopsis continues:
