One of the years most anticipated film is finally among us and the Movie Talk crew got the chance to see it a little early. Ever since George Lucas signed over the rights forStar Warsto Disney, the world has certainly seen a change in a galaxy far, far away. With more films including the traditional saga films to the new spinoff movies and even in the lore ofStar Warsby hitting the reset button on all things canon.

WithThe Force Awakenswell known to the public, it’s time to embrace in a new kind ofStar Warsfilm, the very first spinoff.Gareth Edwards, director ofMonstersandGodzilla, took charge this time around to give us an intense and grounded war film set in theStar Warsuniverse. While Star Wars films have always had some sort of war depicting scenes, Rogue One would stand out to give us a different look than we’ve seen before. The film starsFelicity JonesAs Jyn Erso, daughter ofGalen Erso, played byMads Mikkelsen,Diego Lunaas Cassian Andor andBen Mendelsohnas Orson Krennic. The film also starsDonnie Yen,Alan Tudyk,Riz AhmadandForest Whitaker.
In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
