Law & OrderSeason 24 rolls to a close tonight with “Look the Other Way.” The finale comes just days afterLaw & Orderwasrenewed for a landmark 25th Season. The series was renewed alongside its longstanding spin-offLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit. Ahead of the season finale forLaw & Order, Collider is unveiling an exclusive sneak peek. In the sneak peek, Lt. Jessica Brady (Maura Tierny) asks A.D.A. Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi) to speak privately. When Maroun declines, Brady reveals that the DNA they’ve found also matches an old case. The old case happens to be the rape and murder of Samantha’s sister, Christina, from twelve years prior.
The news rocks Samantha to her core, and she storms off. In the sneak peek, A.D.A. Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) goes after her. Understandably overwhelmed, she explains to Nolan she’s been thinking about the day for so long. Sam knows this means progress in not only their active case of the murder of a model, but the cold case of her sister’s murder, but it doesn’t bring her sister back. From last week’s promo, we know that the revelation springboards Samantha into getting maybe too close to the case, in a way that could jeopardize the investigation as a whole. The scene in the sneak peek also looks to be the same as the promo where Nolan and Sam share a comforting embrace.

The Murder of Sam’s Sister Haunts Her Once Again in ‘Law & Order’
This is not the first time that Samantha has been confronted with the memories of her sister’s murder. Though now it seems that the finale will be able to move Sam and her family towards closure with the promising break in DNA,all the way back in Season 21, when Sam is first introduced, her sister’s murder is brought up as part of the closing arguments in “The Right Thing” in order to help convict the defendant of murder. Sam,just this season, has shown thatthe knowledge of the deadly domestic situation that her sister was in helps Sam to do her job better, rather than be a hindrance. In the promo, she’s aware she can’t get too close to the case, as it becomes entangled with her sister’s, but that likely will not stop Sam from toeing the lineat every turn to ensure that justice is served.
TheLaw & OrderSeason 24 finale “Look the Other Way” airs tonight on NBC. Watch the sneak peek above. Stay with Collider for the latest updates.
