Sinners, the new vampire horror thriller from directorRyan Coogler, has officially wrapped up another successful weekend in theaters. TheMichael B. Jordan-led period piece brought in another $21 million during its fourth weekend, only a 36% drop from the weekend before. Itsglobal cumulative haul now sits at $283.3 million, with $214.4 million coming from domestic earnings and $68.9 million from international markets.Sinners’ new $214.4 million total at the domestic box office is enough to push it past300, the legendary period epic starringGerard Butlerand directed byZack Snyder. The film earned $210 million at the domestic box office, which amounts to $323 million when factoring in inflation.300also earned $243 million internationally to help its global total reach $454 million, still more than $150 million ahead ofSinners.
Sinnersopened as one of the highest-rated movies of the year, and these strong reviews have held firm. At the time of writing,Sinnerssits at a 97% score from critics onRotten Tomatoes, and the audience-driven Popcornmeter is also at 96%.Sinnersexploded onto the scene over the weekend of April 18, earning a stunning $48 million to easily take the top spot at the box office fromA Minecraft Movie. It then dropped only 5% during its second weekend — a rate this low is almost unheard of — on its way to earning another $45 million. It wasn’t untilSinners’ third weekend in theaters that it finally fell to #2 behindThunderbolts*, and the two blockbusters occupied the top spots once again this most recent weekend at the box office.

Will There Be a ‘Sinners’ Sequel?
Neither Ryan Coogler norWarner Bros. has made any announcement regarding a sequel toSinners, but there have been whispers about a potential prequel to the hit vampire film. When asked if he was up for returning as Smoke and/or Stack in aSinnersprequel,Michael B. Jordan confirmed that he’d be there in a flash. There are plenty of potential ideas for aSinnersprequel, including learning what happened to Smoke and Stack during their time in Chicago, as well as the origins ofRemmick (Jack O’Connell)and how he came to be a vampire.
