Hopefully you’re not sick of Snow White because afterSnow White and The Huntsman,Mirror, Mirror, the Snow White-lessThe Huntsman, and even the version on ABC’sOnce Upon a Time, a new live-action adaptation of the fairy tale is in the works.

According toTHR, this one hails from Disney, a studio committed to combing through its entire catalogue of animated movies and offering them live-action counterparts. It seems this newSnow Whitewill be more akin to what is going on with Disney’sBeauty and the Beast, starringEmma WatsonandDan Stevens, in that it’ll be a musical.

Erin Cressida Wilson, who wrote the screenplay forThe Girl on the Train, is in talks to write theSnow Whitescript, whileBenj PasekandJustin Paul(behind the film festival darlingLa La Land) are aboard to write new songs. However, the film will expand upon the story and music from the 1937 original, which was Disney’s very first animated feature film.

Given this one is coming from the Mouse House, we can pretty much rule out some of the more intense elements of theBrothers Grimmtale, like the killer bodice.

This is the latest film to make the jump from animation to live action over at Disney. Others includeThe Little Mermaidwith music fromAlan MenkenandLin-Manuel Miranda,The Lion Kingfrom directorJon Favreau, the recently announcedMulan,Maleficent,The Jungle Book,Cinderella, andAladdinwithGuy Ritchie.

That’s not even including what’s going on at other studios: SonyhiredGame of ThronesdirectorAlex Gravesto helm their version ofMulan, and Universal was in talkslast yearwithRebecca Thomasto helm their version ofThe Little Mermaid. The better question is, Which fairy tales aren’t getting this treatment?
