Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for their upcoming animated filmStorks, a movie that’s actually pretty notable for a few reasons. One, it marks the animated directing debut ofForgetting Sarah Marshall,Neighbors, andThe Five-Year EngagementdirectorNicholas Stoller. And two, it’s the result of an initiative at the studio to developone “high-end” animated film a yearfollowing the success ofThe LEGO Movie, with filmmakers like Stoller,Phil LordandChris Miller, andJohn RequaandGlen Ficarra(Crazy, Stupid, Love.) making up a “creative consortium” to develop said movies.
Stoller co-directsStorkswithDoug Sweetland, the filmmaker responsible for the Pixar animated shortPresto. The movie revolves around the fantastical, famed baby delivery service, withAndy Sambergvoicing the company’s top delivery stork, Junior. When Junior accidentally creates a wholly unauthorized baby girl, he sets out alongside Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, to make their first-ever baby drop before his boss finds out.

This new trailer gets into the nuts and bolts of the movie, and there are a couple of really solid jokes here—one involving a clever pigeon/drone gag. As a fan of Stoller’s live-action work I’m curious to see what he brings to the animated medium, and so farStorkslooks pretty solid.
Check out the new trailer below. The film also features the voices ofKelsey Grammer,Katie Crown,Keegan-Michael Key,Jordan Peele, andDanny Trejo.Storksopens in theaters on September 23rd.
