The AmericanMonsterVerseis currently living its best life. Its latest film,Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, crushed it at the box office last spring and became the highest-grossing film in the overallGodzillafranchise. The next MonsterVerse sequel is in the works alongside the second season ofGodzilla’s first live-action show,Monarch: The Legacy of Monsters. The King of the Monsters also celebrated his 70th anniversary last year. With that came a bunch of new merchandise. This included apparel collections, Funko Pop, comics and action figures. Now,McFarlane Toysis back with their latest epic crossover set.
Revealed at Toy Fair 2025 and a part of McFarlane’s DC Multiverse collection,the seven-inch scale two-pack seesSupermantake on Godzilla. This is based on the 2023/2024 crossover comicJustice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong. The set is currently still in the prototype stage, but this will be the third two-pack based on this comic crossover from McFarlane. They previously releasedBatman and Kongas well as The Flash and Titano. This next addition to this monstrous line will be ahead of the debut ofGodzilla x Kong x Justice League 2. The book features comic versions of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but is inspired by the MonsterVerse versions of Godzilla and Kong.
‘Superman’ is About to Take Flight
While kaiju fans wait for the next MonsterVerse installment, the new DCU will be ramping up theirJames Gunn-led universe. This all starts on the big screen this year withSupermanon July 11th. The first standaloneSupermanfilm in over a decade.David Corenswet(Pearl) will be taking on the iconic role that has seen beloved actors likeChristopher ReevesandHenry Cavillput on the red cape. McFarlane has made figures for them in the past, so it’ll be interesting to see if they’ll make figures for the new film before their DC license expires at the end of the year. Mattel recently got the DC license back for 2026.
Other future DCU projects includeLanterns,Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,Teen Titans,Swamp Thing, andBatman: The Brave and the Bold. As for the MonsterVerse, Godzilla’s next American film doesn’t have a title yet, but it’s starting to fill up an impressive cast.Dan Stevenswill be reprising his role fromGodzilla vs. KongandGodzilla x Kongalongside series newcomersJack O’Connell,Kaitlyn Dever(The Last of Us), andDelroy Lindo(Da 5 Bloods). The film is set to release in theaters on July 12, 2025.
