Production onThe BoysSeason 5 is in full swing, but fans have been theorizing about how the final season of the series would come to a close long before the camera rolled. One star from the series who has been around since the beginning isColby Minifie, who portrays Ashley, the Vought employee who’s often pushed around by Supes and Vought executives. Homelander (Antony Starr) has been bullying Ashley since the first season, and some fans have speculated that she should be the one to kill Homelander in Season 5, especially after she took Compound V at the end of Season 4. Minifie recently caught up with ScreenRant to talk abouther new project,The Surrender, and she teased a"satisfying"finale that had her"emotional"while she was reading it:
“I just read the finale last night. It’s an extremely satisfying finale. That’s what I will say. It’s extremely satisfying. I was getting emotional reading it.”

She also went into detail on how the series needs to be grounded in reality for it to work, which is something the cast and crew intend to take to the end. WhileThe Boysmay feature some of the most outlandish content on television, there are still things that people in the real world can relate to:
“If we believe that it’s all grounded in reality and in something that the audience can connect to, it works?Oh yeah. I have a crazy boss and it makes me want to rip my hair out, you know? [In The Surrender], I’m having trouble with my mom. Our dad died, and Mom wants to bring him back. The grief is real, and the world can expand from there.”

It’s unclear what powers Ashley will get after taking Compound V,but we’ve seen that the serum can certainly have some adverse effects. Butcher (Karl Urban) gained powers similar to Homelander when he took Temp V, but it wasn’t until he began taking regular Compound V that he got his chest-bursting tentacle power, whichhelped him kill Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit). Hughie (Jack Quaid) got teleportation powers from Temp V, but he’s never taken normal Compound V, so we don’t know what powers it would give him.
