The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s latestfinale was a jumbled mess of storylines that left viewers confused about the entire season. Producers' futile attempt to tie up loose ends with the primary cast fell flat. Atlanta’s most favorable newbie,AngelaOakley, hosted a charity gala that was the focal point of the episode, but unlike final events in previous seasons,it failed to deliver a kumbaya moment for the women.Ironically, while it didn’t unite the cast, the gala for the Charles Oakley Foundation was one of the most financially successful charity benefits in RHOA history, bringing in over $100K in donations.
Angela won big in philanthropy but lost out in connecting with the other ladies, and she even managed to alienate her husband, former NBA starCharles Oakley. Angela used the event to confrontPhaedra Parksfor allegedly staging rumors about her husband cheating, but instead of getting to the bottom of the allegations, she ended up with egg on her face and a pissed-off husband. HonoringPorsha Williams, the woman who threatened to sleep with her husband earlier in the season, was a weak attempt to extend an olive branch, which Porsha threw back in her face later that evening. The entire event seemed as disjointed asthe season and left Angela further on the outs with the rest of the womenthan ever before.

Shamea Morton’s Solo Performance Was Lackluster At Best
Playing a close second to Angela’s gala wasShamea’s solo concert, which turned out to be one of the most cringy moments this season.Between a lackluster vocal performance and sketchy stage presence, the overall consensus was that Shamea needed to spend more on vocal coaching and choreography before making her industry debut. Drew joked that her mic should’ve been off whileBritoffered her a sympathetic “E” for effort. Much like Angela’s gala, the event seemed rushed and made for TV as opposed to authentic and well-attended.
Shamea’s event pulled out a few music industry personalities for cameos but failed to solidify Shamea as an artist or even convince the audience that she was serious about her craft. This season’s bad girl,Brit Eady, managed to throw enough shade at Shamea to knock the fan favorite down a few pegs with her messy text messages about her former bestie, Porsha, but even that confrontation felt forced and random.

Porsha Refused To Take Accountability for Her Failed Marriage
After an entire season of filming everywhere except her home, Porsha filmed one closing scene where she can be seen gloating in the marital home she allegedly purchased with her estranged husband,Simon Guobadia. In her confessional, she acknowledged their assets would probably be split down the middle.Porsha’s inability to assume accountability for poaching the wrong African sugar Daddy has left a bad taste in the mouths of her fans. The entire season, she tiptoed around the situation, expecting sympathy for her alleged heartbreak from a divorce that could’ve been avoided if she’d leftFalyn Guobadia’shusband where she found him.
If her lack of a residence wasn’t awkward enough, in the finale,Porshaand her sister,Lauren, sit down with Phaedra to discuss her cousin’s sudden passing. The topic of discussion and energy of the scene are entirely mismatched, with Phaedra assuring Porsha and Lauren that she is a sort of gatekeeper to heaven’s gates. The entire scene played out like fingernails on a chalkboard instead of honoring their cousin’s memory.

There Is Drama to Go Around in RHOA Season 16
A very awkward final conversation betweenDrewand her cohabitating estranged husband,Ralph Pittman, was added togive Drew some much-needed closure to a chaotic season filled with untruths and avoidance. After hurling accusations at one another all season, Ralph sits down at the piano, and the two agree to co-parent peacefully. Drew spent the majority of season 16 as an outsider, visibly unsure of her place in the group but determined not to back down. Her stubborn attitude and consistently deceitful narrative made it difficult to advocate for her role in the franchise.
Phaedrabrought major drama in a short period of time. She threw shade at Angela’s looks, questioning her true age, and hinted that Charles was known to be unfaithful. When confronted with hiring someone to expose Charles, she denied involvement but was less than convincing. Flaunting a boy toy with a vixen’s appearance while claiming to be an upstanding mother, attorney, funeral director, and self-proclaimed agent of the Lord has always created a contradiction in Phaedra’s persona. During a recent interview,Phaedra assured RHOA fans that she would be back for Season 17,but the conflicting agendas may prove a bit too much to swallow moving forward.

Kelli Ferrell’s final scene involved her daughters and a complicated explanation of why her divorce wasn’t finalized but instead is holding up her progress towards expanding her chicken and waffles empire. It’s clear that there’s more to Kelli’s divorce than she admits, but there hasn’t been time to invest in her as a personality.Instead of showing authenticity regarding her divorce and business, Kelli focuses on keeping audiences distracted with outfits. She started the season with her bestie, Brit, but before mid-season, the two had become staunch enemies, and the finale solidifies the fact that their friendship is over.
In the final scene at the Charles Oakley charity gala,Britmanages to burn the final bridge with every remaining cast member and removes her microphone, claiming the rest of the cast is too beneath her to continue engaging with them. The updates added to the credits reveal that Brit decided not to join the rest of the cast for the reunion. Rumors of her suing Bravo for numerous claims suggest she was a horrible choice for a peach holder this season. In conclusion, producers were clueless about how to conclude this season, proving that Peachtree could be better left off the Real Housewives directory moving forward.
