There’s a feeling of deja vu in the extended trailer for the season finale ofThe Flash. Once again, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is seeking revenge on a speedster villain (who also looks like one of his allies) after he killed one of his parents. It was Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) in season 1, and now it’s Zoom (Teddy Sears) in season 2. The latter will face off in a race with Barry that could possibly wipe out all the worlds in the multiverse. Fans of the DC animated films might be feeling some vibes ofJustice League: Crisis on Two Earths, in which Owlman (the villainous multiverse counterpart of Batman) has a similar plot. Only Zoom isn’t as tragically poetic about it.

Arrowis in a similar scenario with a similarly extended finale trailer: much like in season 2 with the battle against Slade (Manu Bennett) and his army, the city has been plunged into chaos as a villain plans a mass cleansing of the population, much like in season 1 with the explosive plot of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman). Only this time, the villain is magic-wielder Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

Watch previews of both showdowns in the trailers below.

The Flashseason 2 finale will air on The CW this Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST, whileArrow’s finale will drop Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST.
