The latest trailer for Disney/Pixar’s upcoming filmThe Good Dinosaurgives a more extensive look into the prehistoric world of Arlo the Apatosaurus. Not only do we get more detailed looks at the lush and nearly photo-realistic landscapes that form this world, we also learn more about Arlo’s relationships with the creatures around him. Of course, there’s the friendship between Arlo and a primitive human boy that forms the emotional core of the story, but then there’s the unexpected team-up of the herbivore with a trio of meat-eating T-rexes; I’m curious to see how that all plays out.
The premise ofPeter Sohn’sThe Good Dinosaur- one that sees the extinction-causing asteroid pass by Earth rather than slam into it - is an interesting one that lets the filmmakers play in an alternate reality where pretty much anything can happen. Add to that Pixar’s legacy of emotionally resonant films and the fact that a pivotal part ofThe Good Dinosaur’splot reminds me ofAn American Tail, andit’s sure to be a fun family film this holiday season.

The Good Dinosauropens in 3D on November 25th, and features the voices ofRaymond Ochoa,Jeffrey Wright,Steve Zahn,A.J. Buckley,Anna Paquin,Sam Elliott,Frances McDormand,Marcus Scribner, andJack Bright. Watch the new trailer for Pixar’sThe Good Dinosaurbelow:
