Now that ourTop 50 Superhero Movies of All Timelist has come and gone, it’s on to the next! But this time around, we’re putting the spotlight on one specific filmmaker - one of the best of all-time,Steven Spielberg. From 1975’sJaws, which started the summer blockbuster phenomenon, to 2017’s Academy Award-nominatedThe Post, Spielberg has moved audiences with his rich, emotional stories, thrilled them with some incredible action sequences; made them think with his political dramas and inspired them to explore a world beyond our own. Along the way, he has won three Oscars with one coming in the Best Picture category forSchindler’s Listand two in the Best Director category forSchindler’s ListandSaving Private Ryan.

With so many great films to Spielberg’s name, there were bound to be a few that wouldn’t end up on our Top 10 list. We chose 4 of those films to highlight as our Honorable Mentions. On this episode, we’re focusing on 2005’sMinority Report.Minority Reportis written byScott FrankandJon Cohenand is based onPhilip K. Dick’s short storyThe Minority Report. The film starsTom Cruise,Samantha Morton,Colin Farrell, andMax Von Sydow. The film is set in the future where a special police unit is able to arrest murderers before they commit their crimes, but this unit is tested from within when an officer from their ranks is himself accused of a future murder.

Various Collider staff members, personalities, and experts will weigh in with their thoughts on those honorable mentions and each of our Top 10 selections, share their initial reaction to seeing the movie for the first time, if they think that film belongs at its assigned place on the list, and if it still holds up for them to this day.
