The next season ofThe Bearjust got a major update from its showrunner. It’s been nearly a year sinceThe BearSeason 3 premiered all 10 episodes of Season 3 on Hulu, and while it finished as the lowest-rated season of the series according toRotten Tomatoes, that didn’t stop FX and Hulu from swiftly moving forward with Season 4. News on the fourth season has been quiet for a while now, but showrunnerJoanna Calorecently delivered the update fans have been waiting for. Calo caught up with Omelete on the red carpet forThunderbolts*, and she confirmed thatthe show will debut on Hulu on June 15. Calo wrote the script forThunderbolts*along with Marvel veteranEric Pearson.
This news also comes not long after it was confirmed thatThe BearstarJeremy Allen Whitewill play a buff Rotta the Hutt (Son of Jabba) inThe Mandalorian and Grogu, the Star Wars film coming to theaters next May. White is a two-time Emmy winner for his work on the series, and he’s also known for starring as Lip Gallagher inShamelessand Kerry Von Erich inThe Iron Claw. Starring alongside White inThe Bearis another Emmy winner,Ayo Edebiri, who recently teamed up withJohn Malkovichfor the A24 film,Opus. She’s also known for her work onInside Out 2. Another Emmy Award-winning star fromThe BearisEbon Moss-Bachrach, who will make his MCU debut this summer in the major tentpoleThe Fantastic Four: First Steps.Liza Colón-Zayas,Lionel Boyce,Abby Elliott, andMathew Mathesonalso star inThe Bear.
What Is the Highest-Rated Season of ‘The Bear’?
According to critics on Rotten Tomatoes,the highest-rated season ofThe Bearis Season 1, which earned a perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Following behind is Season 2 at 99%, but there was a slight dip in Season 3, which fell to 89%. However, this is still a “certified fresh” rating that most shows would be thrilled with. General audience reception forThe Beartells a much different story — the first two seasons earned a score of 92% from audiences, butSeason 3 dipped to a startling 51%. Many fans argued that Season 3 moved too far away from Carmy and the restaurant business whilefocusing too much on other characters.
